AA T-Shirts: interest was expressed in recent trip

May 29 2008, 10:08 AM

Perhaps we might consider a reorder ( perhaps a darker colour)
with the decal might be in order

IMHO: Perhaps a light or dark grey with
www.ALGONQUINADVENTURE.com on back
and
the circle AA decal on the front

and perhaps a PINK or RED version for those gals and guys
wanting to be modernin support of a good cause

Rac n

P.S. If somebody wishes to step up and volunteer then please do
otherwise I may be inclined to check out options

I'd like to also consider a couple of bucks surcharge ( $2 )
that would be donated to a suitable cause
(
e.g. perhaps
Pink for Breast Cancer,
Red for Miltary families,
etc,etc
)

Sounds like a good idea. I opted out of the last order, but would be interested if another comes about. I know of cafepress.com as a supplier, but I don't know any others.

Hmm,

I talked to Mike about the T-Shirts on our last trip together.
I don't think he'll be having more printed. It was basically a one-shot deal, and some folks backed out on their orders, which made the process all the more inconvenient for Mike.

Keep in mind, that the Algonquin Adventures logo, is the property of Barry Bridgeford, and as such written permission should be acquired beforehand, if one decides to run a new batch of the T-shirts. Barry granted Mike the right to reproduce the logo for a limited run of the T-shirts, as long as it was a non-profit operation. I think if anyone had enough time and energy to do a second run, Barry would have no problem granting permission for the use of his logo, under a non-profit run of T-shirts.

Ooops , some points :-( I overlooked.. Still hopefull to proceed

May 29 2008, 12:56 PM

Perhaps we could do a "cash in advance" NLT date 1 Aug 2008
with Barry's permission

I'd also be willing to see Barry run this as a $ generator for
AA or perhaps even do it on my own with his permission

If I do it, I'd like to charge an additional $2 with
$1 going to AA and the other to one specific charity
to be proposed and selected by participants!
( votelet selected )

Delivery $$ would be extra ( e.g. Canada post cost of a package and delivery)
or
possible free pickup at the Kingscote trip
planned for Thursday/Friday August 21/22 as I'll 98.9 % will
be there and willing to deliver if its me that proceeds.

As I said... cash in advance NLT 1 Aug would be my proposed
method.. Note: Cheque must clear the following week
as the order would be placed the 2 weeks prior to Kingscote

So, waiting for Barry to respond and then it can be decided
if this is a doable

Thanks.

Okey-Dohkey :-)... AA T-shirt offer ( Limirted time frame)

May 29 2008, 3:11 PM

Thanks Barry

I'll start checking out companies and let the forum know
by mid june.
T-Shirt Cost will depend on quantites ordered and perhaps even
the sizes but this I will know soonest.
I expect around $16/$17 each for a quality T-shirt
Hey Mike B. ... any pointers I should know in advance ?

Anyways... as for anticipated costs
1. I will charge an additional $2 to the cost with
$1 going to AA and the other to one specific charity
to be proposed and selected by participants!
( votelet selected ). My time and effort will be free

2. Delivery $$ would be extra
( e.g. Canada post cost of a package and delivery)
or
possible free pickup at the Kingscote trip
planned for Thursday/Friday August 21/22 as I'll 98.9 % will
be there and willing to deliver if its me that proceeds.

3. Hopefully , total cost approx $16/17 to allow for inflation
since Mike B last did this and to allow the extra $2 for AA & a charity

As suggest earlier... cash in advance NLT 24 July would be required to confirm order
Note: Cheque must clear the following week
as the order would be placed the 2 weeks prior to Kingscote

Plan is to make Green on Grey Tshirts unless multiple tshirt colours order is doable.
Perhaps Longsleeve version would be desireable
and if doable then I may also do this is possible

Poor example of green on grey below ( I'm sure others can do better .
Note that this colour test is not using the correct font nor the
expected shade of grey as it should be lighter but MS paint has its issues
and I'm too cheap to but a better quality Illustrator type software package !! )

HTH anyways

Rac n

P.S.
Some user feed back on serious interest and order quantity in the next week would be appreciated.
since his will definatel help in estimating quantity and likely final costing of the order

Please just reply to this post with numbers desired so I do not need to worry about losing somebodies email

and I will summarize the "order by person" towards the end of june
before placing the order with my email for any corrections

As for me
I am planning to order two regular T-Shirts ( large) and as well
two more long sleeve T's (large) if that is doable

Perhaps I should go with a ping colour ...
Sadly I had ordered two A-Channel Pink Army T-shirts and
we picked them up today.
It seems the X-Large size, that was ordered to be mine,
my wife has just claimed stating it is her preferred colour
and the one I ordered for her (neato pink camo style colour
but definately a female style collar
and sized too small for me remains available.
So it looks like my sweet heart now has 2 Pink Armp shirts
which she has indicated would not be a problem
and I'll need to find another good reason to order yet another
pink shirt ( Of course for safety/visibility reasons

RE: Original Idea of Mike B. and I am following up
with a second possible ordering of such shirts
and besides , my wife also indicated this might be a good idea

I know Bearcub and Mrs. Bearcub are also interested in AA shirts. They mentioned this to me on White P.
