From a blog entry on my website...
Here is another vintage Algonquin Park Map. Produced by Canadian National Railways in 1922. This map is one of the better quality old maps out there, showing not only old roads and portages, but phone lines as well, as they existed at that time. Under sections 6.1 and 12 of the Canadian Copyright Act, this map is deemed public domain and is free and available for download on the main website, in the “Extras” section. On the back of the map is a travel-guide produced by CNR, to compliment the map. Both the map and travel guide are available in actual size and half size downloads. Please feel free to mirror any maps, to help reduce the load on the server hosting markinthepark.com.
It is important to note here, that the paper the physical map was printed on, is of very thin quality. Although the map was well preserved, scanning and even just viewing the map on a table, the reverse side of the map showed through. This is also the case when looking at the travel-guide side of the map. Rather than make adjustments to remove the artifacts/ghosts, I have left the map as is. This is besides the fact that the map has been stitched together.
Many thanks goes out to Jeffrey McMurtie for loaning out the map, from which I understand he paid a pretty penny to acquire it.
