Snow Geese

This may or may not be Algonquin related, depending on if Snow Geese fly over Algonquin.
Yesterday we saw (here, just west of Ottawa) many flocks of geese. The lowest flock was being led by a Canada goose and the rest of that flock were Snow Geese.
I always thought the snow goose flight patterns were well West of Ontario and over the Maritimes. If this is true, would anyone know why they could be off their typical flight patterns?

Perhaps the lead goose was from Poland and/or Newfoundland????

One of the stops for the snow geese is near Quebec City. I saw them hunting the snow geese on TV last year.
We live on Lake Erie and we get hundreds of Tundra Swans every March. It's nice to see.
