Yeah, North Tea can be pretty windy for sure. Was there two years ago and was lucky enough to get a tail wind on the way in and out (allowed us to make it from Kawawaymog all the way to Birchcliffe lake in a day).

Question for you Glenn ... did you happen to do any fishing on Birchcliffe lake? I was stunned when we had hardly any luck back in there. It comes with a great reputation and is pretty hard to get to (Birchcliffe creek goes on forever), so, i had very high expectations. I was very disappointed with that one, but, not sure if maybe we were just doing something wrong.

Hey Jeremy....

I hear you on the wind and the creek...Been through there before...SOLO.....

We were 10 hours of non-stop going in.....and 8 1/2 coming out....

Fishing was terrible....2 small brookies and 2 small bass...Through them all back.....That was 4 of us fishing......

Made for a disappointing weekend......

Not that i would ever wish bad fishing on anyone, but, it's encouraging to know that we weren't the only ones with bad luck back there (our catch was about the same ... actually caught a few large perch that were ~ 12 inches).

We were fortunate enough to stay in the cabin with a nice cozy wood stove ... sure was a luxury (as we got snow in the morning and at night). There was a pretty hilarious log book that chronicled and cursed many accounts of the never-ending bends of birchcliffe creek .

Good luck.

I have been in Birchcliffe and area 3 times now and last year it was bad for fishing. We have had good results here in the past thats why we came back again. But even the creek has become worse. The park is not looking after it. Our first time in to birchcliffe took us 11 hours but we made it in one day and had good fishing . The second time took us two days but still had good fishing . The third time also took two days and very poor fishing . The cabin is very nice one of the better ones but I don't think I'll go back again.
