Well we are packed and heading out this morning. Our destination is North River Lake, Access #26. Looking forward to some quiet leisure time and a bit of fishing. Weather forcast is not great but could be worse. Also ready to face the bugs. Will post when we get back. Happy paddling!
We arrived at the island campsite around 3pm. We were able to set up camp before the first shower. There were tarps every where, including over the thunderbox. Rain, rain ,rain and wind. Thunderstorms as well.
We were able to get out fishing. Though the trout were not biting. We caught one spec about 2 1/2 lbs. The nites were cold, thank goodness for the new down sleeping bags. Monday morning we woke up to snow flurries and 1C.
The weather was horrible but no bugs. The only place we encountered bugs was at the far end of the lake at the sand beach.

Too bad about the fishing, but one big speck isn't that bad.
I too have camped on that island site many times! I really like it!

Now there's something I never thought of! Although, I'm not to sure I'd want to pack that tarp out!
