We got back from Lantern on Monday and had an awsome trip. The portages aren't bad at all and yes there are fish there. We found a knife on a portage, is anyone missing one? It was only a two night trip but it was beautiful. Does anyone know anything about Ghost Lake?

Ghost Lake???? Man, I know it like the back of my hand.

I fished this lake way back in the 1960's when the portage to it was from Cedar Lake. Excellent lake for specks back then and still is from the reports I hear from others who have fished it recently.

My wife and I went back to Ghost last year, portaging in from Rana/Pan lakes.
We based camped on Pan and walked into Ghost. A really uphill and difficult climb if you are carrying a canoe. Once there, we never got a chance to fish the lake as it was too shallow where the portage ended and although we tried walking through the heavy, heavy brush to get to the two campsites on the other side, eventually gave up. The forest is like a jungle!!!

So, if you decide to go to Ghost, bring a canoe!

Hey there. We did Lantern Lake on Victoria Day weekend and also had great fishing. Unfortunately we had rain all weekend and snow on the Monday we left. It is a beautiful lake. Did you see any moose?
The knife wasn't mine, so somebody must have gone in between us and you. Not much room for more than one tent eh? Glad you had a good trip. I plan on visiting Lantern again in the future. Great spot for fishing.

Moose

We saw three moose. One on the way in on the Raveneau portage on the right in the swampy area. It was too late he heard us and I couldn't get a pic of him. On on the way out right at Cedar lake swimming. Again too late. Then there was one right across the bay, so we paddled over to him and he wasn't shy so he posed for us.
