Hi Bo,

In my Algonquin Fishing book, it says that Varley, Glacier and Gull Lakes have specks in them, but doesn't mention Camp Five.
I'd like to know how'd you rate these lakes and if you know what is in Camp Five Lake?
Thanks in Advance

Hey Markus,

We didn't catch a thing on Camp Five when we passed through there in May of 2005, but Glacier and Gull both produced good fish. A couple of 2 pounders on Gull. Planning on fishing them one your way in next week? Try in front of the campsite on Gull. There is a small bay there that was productive for us.

Day-tripping sir, day-tripping, we are going in through the top of Carl Wilson, Swede recommends it.
About half finished packing..can't wait dammit...haven't had a decent night's sleep since North Tea Lake in May.
I see Sean (of Ajax) has had some wicked thunderstorms the last two nights up on Cedar...must be nice, can't wait to see his pics!
See you next Sat. Nite Darren!!

Well, it looks like its going to be okay for us. Long range forecast from Environment Canada says showers Saturday, Light rain on Sunday, but sun and high 20's the rest of the week. I'm going crazy too....can't come fast enough. I was also thinking we could probably get some good moose pics in that marshy area in the south of Carl Wilson. Looks like moose territory. See you Sat dude. Algonquin rocks!

I have caught specks in all the lakes you mentioned, i.e. Camp Five, Varley, Gull and Glacier. I would recommend them all as being good at this time of year. Gull and Glacier being rated slightly higher than the other two.

Good luck! And bring some big dew worms and snelled hooks and spinners!!!
