Hi all,

The canoe trip my wife and I have planned for July 14-18 is in jeopardy! My 15 year old son, who was supposed to be at camp all of July, just separated his shoulder playing rugby and he can't go to camp. So we may have to cancel our canoe trip as well. There is still a chance we may go, but we want to look into renting a satellite phone to keep in touch.

Does anybody have any recommendations? (I did read an old post about some questionable coverage with Globalstar.)

Rick on CCR was renting his satellite phone, if he wasn't using it, that is.

I'm not sure if he's still doing that.

Iridium network. Globalstar is essentially dead now, and I found out the hard way last year in the Arctic.

I checked with Rick, and he'll be using his sat phone for the month of July. So it won't be available....sorry.

He rents out the one he owns. But I suspected that this would be bad timing.

I'll check back with him again, and get the details about the make, etc. if I can.

Where are you located? I might have some other locations for rentals that would be of some help.

Most Skidoo ( oops snowmobile) clubs likely have
a yearly rental an offer great deals but
( for me it's no sweat as my oldest Bro is presiden
of local club ) . Anyways if you want a great deal on
Sat Phone rental check out a local Club: e.g. snowmobile/ moteur neigh de hiver ) and you may find a decent rental

Failing that past suggestions are 2nd best
