Hey all;

Like Canoeguy, Sean of Ajax, Markus and several others, I'm recently back from Cedar Lake and finally finished a trip log for the trip. For those interested it can be found at:

As always, questions and comments are always welcomed and encouraged!

I hope you enjoy the read!

Great read Jeff. Awesome pics too.
I see the spider that we had guarding our canoes on Carl Wilson tagged along with Markus to protect the canoes on your site. I wonder if Markus knew he had a stowaway?

Hey Canoeguy

I hope he didn't know as if it was me and I knew, I'd be swimming not paddling. That spider was that BIG!

Triplog...

Hey Jeff,

Great read... Was a lot of fun so we will have to do this again. Maybe without so much rain next time though. And after that windstorm, I thought I may have to change my name to Sean (of OZ)...

Great read Jeff. Yeah we saw you coming in, but since your canoe was green, we dismissed it as being 'you', and kept on fishing.
Glad I did leave the AA shirt out though and you were able to make yourself at home, while we kept on fishing.
That was awesome though..all that ice..thank you sir, for the cold ones!

Great read Jeff P.

How long does it take from Huntsville to Cedar lake? Is it about 3 hours or is that including stops?

Hey SBA ...

From Huntsvile, the drive to the dock at Cedar Lake was about 3 hours. I had NO traffic though, so on a normal day I would add another 30 minutes or so. In either case, well worth the drive!

I'm pretty sure this is correct...but it almost seems unreal:
Started Hwy#400@401, 2:10am
Arrived Access#27 Permit office, 6:30am
Travel time 4h20min!
I stopped only once at Timmy's in North bay at 5:00am sharp, in and out.
driving 110km/h(sometimes 114km/h) in 100 zones, and 104km/h in 90 zones.
I passed by 6 yes count'em SIX speedtraps, and those were the ones that I saw, i wonder how many I didn't see.
Just past Muskoka rd.#2, it was like someone was standing there waiting for me with a deer head on a spit, for all of a sudden there was one coming out of nowhere. I swerved and stepped on the gas hard and yelled. I heard a thump on my rear quarter panel, looked back and saw nothing...IU think the deer just clipped me. Said a quick prayer and not 10 sec. later, something black and white with man ylegs was running across the highway...I slammed on the brakes, the cat or skunk or whatever it was, made it to the otherside, I kept on going , barely doing 80 for about 10 min...so frazzled I was.
