We are going to be arriving at the Kiosk campground late Thursday night and we were wondering if there is a restaurant anywhere near there. It would be easier than having to make coffee and breakfast before we paddle in. I guess I sound a little lazy eh.
I've been down Hwy 630 a couple of times in the past and as I recall there's nothing on that highway that serves food. There's a diner in Rutherglen and several places in Mattawa but that's a good hike back out to Trans Canada 17 and back if you want an early start. Perhaps, you can settle for some Tim Horton donuts bought the Thurs. nite in North Bay for breakfast on Fri.

There is a motel that serves excellent food at 531 and 17. It is a long white building on the south side of 17 about 100 feet off the road. You can't miss it. I was there last week. I don't know the business hours but itis a motel so the restaurant hopefully will be open.
I hope 531 is correct but as I say you can't miss it if you watch for it.

Paddlin:
There is also a good food restaurant in Mattawa on your right hand side...
you drive right by it....I think it is just before you leave the town of
Mattawa....I've eaten here before.....I can't remember whether it's
24-hours or not. I remember buying take out chicken to take back to my
campsite on Kioshkokwi as a treat for my grandkids who were camping with me.

Breakfast

Take a thermos and fill her up at one of the earlier mentioned eateries
and some granolabars and a bannana I would say are your best bet as there is nothing within
easy commute distance unless you are willing to head back to the highway

I misunderstood the question. There is no place near the Kiosk campground to buy breakfast.

There is a restaurant at 17 and 531 that opens at 6am. Its only about 20 minutes from Kiosk, the way my husband drives. The food is good and the service is Ok. Enjoy

Thanks for the help. I will probably do just what you were saying Racoon. Even just make some fresh coffee in the morning. Thanks again.
