We have a trip planned for early August and instead of Rock Lake we thought maybe Galeairy since we have not been there yet.
Can anybody provide info on the sites just east of the dam on Rock Lake?
Where is the deep water and any steep drop offs in Galeairy?
Any comments on relative fishing success Rock vs Galeairy (bass and Trout) would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Chemist

Chemist:

There is a 5 star campsite on the island at the mouth of the bay that
takes you to the portage to Night Lake. It is extremely deep off this
island. Nice flat rocks for diving off and swimming.

Apart from this, on the northern shore from this island there are a group
of 3 sites which are all nice. Also, on the island coming from Rock Lake
portage, this site is pretty good as well.

Lake trout, bass, and walleye is what I have caught in this lake.

Other sites/lakes in that area

Once you get to the end of Galariey where the island is
, if its not avail then the shore site are OK as well

Romour has it that not just lures but complete fishing reel/rod and lure
could be caught if casting of that island. Past donation to fish gods
that I was informed of.

BTW: That part of G Lake is like almost being in the
centre interior of the park

Alternate or day tripping to G Lake or if you desire to explore

Pen is also in the area and is also a nice lake and allows great side trip to Welcome,Harry or Rence. Its a nice loop to do from G Lake (via nite and return via Rock is an excellent paddle/portage

Ditto for Louisa but a bit of a hike with canoe/gear but its worth it!

All are doable as a day trip from G Lake.
Just do it and the portage will be behind you

Pen is definately on the list of things to do. I have been to Pen through Rock but not thru Night. The 'Fishing in APP' book does not list Night L. What kind of fish are in Night L?
If the wind gets bad we will also be visiting Aubrey and Gordon.
