I guess this would be the west arm, but there's an awesome beach site with double campsites right at the channel between the two arms (i *think*). it's on the north side of the lake. highly recommend -- you could probably fit 9 tents let alone 9 people. in fact, i think we did just that in my outdoor education class in high school.

also recommend fishing around that point up to about halfway across the west arm for smallmouth bass. i don't know the structure, but i always hit one when i troll this section.

North Tea lake has tons and tons of campsites. I know why you ask for info.
I've only stayed on the east arm twice, once solo, the other time, with Mike B.
On the map below, the two sites circled in green, are the ones I've stayed on.
Both can accommodate 3 tents no problem...neither has a sand beach...the northerly one, has a massive fire-pit and bench system.
The southerly one, is large and flat..with lots of smooth rock all around...the landing(s) are rough.

Be warned; North Tea Lake can be a difficult paddle as the wind can be relentless on this lake..paddling out from the east arm, can be a very tiring affair. If you get lucky...it can be a fantastic paddle with the sun rising behind you.

Great, anymore?

Thanks both of you for your suggestions.

And thanks for the warning Markus, I was there last summer with my GF and we had some seriously high waves and strong wind on the way out.

If any body else has any more, we can always use options.

I think nearly any site on the north side of the lake will be able to fit multiple tents. Most sites on the north side of North Tea have nice beaches for swimming and easy landings. The south side of the lake is more rocky. Its a well travelled lake, so most sites are going to be well maintained and have multipe spots for tents.

Hmmmm

North Tea and Manitou look like big lakes and to date the only
ones I have travelled are Cedar, Opeongo and Kioshkokwi.

Thankfully my cheeks have seperated from the clenching
they experienced during some past paddles on these BIG lakes.

Definately I would like to test out NT/M and in the days/weeks/years ahead I will
need to check these out and perhaps in advance quiz BK and Markus/Others on their experiences so I can learn from those who have gone before.

Hopefully all those who go this way are cautious and watch the weather
while keeping the other eye on nearest shore !!

It was great!!.. and wet

August 12 2008, 10:35 AM

Thanks again to all

Had a great time even though it rained 80% of the time. We ate like kings in tarpaulin castle.

And we did catch 1 break (other then being in APP), the wind at our backs and the sun shining. It was beautiful

I will be back in the park labour day weekend with the GF, hopefully the weather will be better.

Bye for now

Really? Wind at your backs on the way out? Wow, first time I've heard that on North Tea/Kawawaymog!

Good to hear your trip was enjoyable. Do any fishing?

Ya I know! Like I said in an earlier post I had the opposite last year. I was very welcome after such a wet weekend. At one point we were almost surfing with the wind and wave combo, amazing!.

I did do some fishing in the narrows, pulled out and put back a few smallies but due to the rain I didn't bring my camera so no pics.
