I went to pick up my daughter at a cottage at the top of Baptiste Lake last Friday and was invited out for a boat/kayak trip. We headed north across the top of Elephant Lake, into Benoir and up the York River to High Falls. Having never been to Baptiste or that area before I was a little surprised and pleased to see the following sign:

BTW, High Falls is very nice - I would love to see it in the spring. There were lots of people (cottagers) swimming and sliding down the falls. I would recommend a day trip into High Falls from Kingscote for any AAer's heading up to celebrate with Bo this weekend - you would be looking at 6 portages one way, the longest is 1300 M. Not too bad for a day trip if you are traveling light.

Enjoy the celebration of a significant milestone Bo, I hopefully will catch up with you on another day.

Baptiste lake is beautiful!! I have a friend who has a cottage on that lake in Bancroft... when I was there I thought "wow, almost like being in algonquin"

Thanks Coach! I'm sure we will meet on Sec Lake again real soon.

And High Falls.....I have heard too about this place and being able to
slide down the falls while swimming. Thanks for the information and I'll
have a drink for you while I'm there.
