Those two west-facing sites on the island are both spectacular (I believe from looking at Markus' site that this is where he stayed as well). They're wide open with great swimming rocks and a sheltered, sandy bay. The table made out of the old outhouse walls was a nice touch too.

They weren't on an island... the log describes them as the first site on the south shore, where the site is on a point that juts out from land... 2 shallow sandy bays on either side of the site.

I was actually solo on that trip.
That campsite I stayed at, is perfect for a couple.
The next one east of there, past the cliff face, is nice too..a rugged site...tucked away with a towering rock wall nearby.
The islands sites in the east end of the lake are nice, but you have to get up pretty earl yin the morning to score them for a weekend..or show up on a thursday. The very first site on the point on the north west side of the lake is "Dogbyte's" favorite campsite..there are a few other sites along there, all on points. There aren't too many 'crap' campsites on Ralph Bice...Provided the weather and your neighbors co-operate, you should have a splendid trip.

You should go to Little Trout!
Only camped on Bice once, 'cause LT is so much nicer, and that was at a very pleasant site on the NW shore. I tooled around there and they all looked good to me.

Just got back from Bice,
the site Markus stayed on is completely flooded and unusable. the front end of the site including tent pads and fire pit is underwater.

i did stay on bice, it was full......the only free site at the time was the one that is one site past the flooded one.....a huge site, but recieves no sun. THe sun didn't matter much as we were out on the water all day anyway.

Nice site on Bice we have stayed at many times is just right of the island as you are heading across coming from hambone at the far end of the lake. I think there are two on the right of the island, the second is very nice, you could walk out quite a ways in just a few feet of water. I'll dig out my map and give better directions if you like. Just got back a couple hours ago from a few days on Hambone.

I knew the water was high this year, but wow.
Sorry to hear that site was flooded...and it's not my fault either!

Yeah, lots of mucky portages and standing water this year.
I'm surprised to hear people recommending Little Trout over Ralph Bice. We just canoed through that area, and I thought Bice looked a little nicer; however, we didn't stop to check out any campsites on either lake.
We stayed our first night on Queer L, which was decent. Misty Lake was the gem of our trip, and we did two nights there. I would definitely return. The last night on Daisy Lake was fine, although the sites on that lake seemed pretty underwhelming.

Back from Bice

Back from the long weekend on Ralph Bice and I'm sure as anyone who was in the park could tell you it was beautiful.
Just want to thank everyone for their suggestions and advice.
Markus, that site is still underwater, in fact a ranger we talked to told us he paddled right over the fire pit in the spring.
We ended up an amazing site on the island at the east end of the lake. It was perfect in everyway, great views, great firepit, good tentpads and the kicker was huge sunning rock waterfront that sloped down in to the water to 10 feet deep (like a natural boat ramp) needless to say I spend a lot of time swimming. The only drawback I could see is it's close proximity to other sites, that being said all of our neighbours were very well behaved with very little yahooism.
