Well I'm planning a trip to Algonquin Park next year. I will entering through Camp Kiosk. I don't drive and will be taking the Greyhound bus. I am bringing an inflatable kayak. My question is, when I get off the bus on highway 17 at the entrance to the park, could I just inflate my kayak and take the river down to Kiosk? I notice on the map that the river follows along side the road. It would sure be better than hiking the 30 kms from the highway. Thanks.
not knowing the river or being able to answer your question, i'd be intersted in a triplog if you do take the wet route.
a triplog for the other route probably wouldn't be as exciting

The Amable Du Fond R goes downstream from Kiosk and has a lot of whitewater. In other words.... you're not going upstream.

That part of the river is crazy in places, but yeah, you'd be going upstream!
Better off trying your luck here next year, when you are ready to go(say within 6 weeks of your departure), to see if you can score a lift from someone. Either that or stick out your thumb.
Good Luck!

Been to Algonquin once before. Spent a week there canoeing. Its been 21-22 years since I have been back there. Can't wait to return!
