Placing a tent near dark spots?October 14 2008 at 4:32 PM | Joe from IP address 70.53.125.138 |

On a much earlier post I read where someone did not want to pitch their tent near dark spots. I presume the dark spots would be the surronding underbrush! I am not sure why? Is it because of bugs or is it because it would make a great hiding spot for animals? (i.e bears).
Thanks
Joe

Not sure what they would mean by 'dark spots'. Once the sun goes down, everywhere is a dark spot. Bug concerns are seasonal. Critter concerns are silly, imo. |

I did not see the earlier post. It could mean darker, damper spots on the ground that would indicate where water might collect.

Don't suppose you remember the post and could give us a link to it?
Reading it in context would help.

Thanks for the responces, I was also not sure what they had meant, thus the reason for the question. I honestly cannot remember where I had seen the post as I have been reading alot of them dating back to 2006 ( enjoy reading about everyone's experiences within the park ). I thought it may have some thing to do with bugs in the spring time.
