We're going for a paddle this weekend and thought we would try a typically popular spot in the park (we usually avoid them like the plague). We're hoping that since it's so late in the season + the dump of snow this week that no one will be there.
We were going to do Crotch, Farm, Kitty then up the portage to Bridle and then down through Shirley.
Question - Is there a camp site on Bridle? My old map says yes and my new one says no.
What map are you using? My Friends of Algonquin map says there is one there and the map I created says the same.

Thanks Barbara!! Awesome pics
We bailed... tough week at the office and we're all beat. Maybe next weekend
Jeff - I bought the Backroadmapbooks Algonquin Provincial Park map. I got suckered in by the waterproof tearproof 'ness of the map as well as the fact that it has pretty good Topo in it. Maybe it's crap?? I used it on the loop in the spring and it was ok.
You have your own map? Is it electronic? Love to see it
Cheers

Oh geez. That piece of crap shouldn't be sold in stores. It's the worst map out there because it's missing so much - even basic info that appears on the Friends of Algonquin map. If you want a waterproof map, get one of the Chrismar ones, at least they're a bit better than the Friends of Algonquin ones.
My map is downloadable for free at homepage.mac.com/canoecamping/Map/ ; Sorry for the oddly coloured lakes, they are being fixed in the next revision due this coming spring. See my other thread "Upcoming Map Changes - Your Thoughts?" for a sample image.
