Walk in sites on Johnson lake are easily reached and
one could easily walk back to car daily if desired.
Did this with my teenage kids about a decade ago
and Johnson Lake campsite was a base camp for a day trip
to High Fall water slide.
Of course one can always just go with the wooded
"jump off" sites"
I stayed at these jump off sites once when nothing
else was available ( summer weekend last minute decision to go to Achray)
and they were rather decent considering the car was less than a 5 minute walk away
P.S. I refer to the jumpoff sites behind the theatre and not the ones
between the former tracks and the lake on the east side
All you need to know is here wrt Achray campground
