Is it Joe Lake? Looking east, the tip of the big island on the right.

Approaching the narrows between Big Trout and White Trout, looking west, with a campsite on the right point.

Any chance it's on the Lt Madawaska? Between Philip and Radiant... Either that or the Crow R between Lavaille and Big Crow... I'm blanking on the location of the cliffs..

Where?

Yes, Jeff, it's on the Little Madawaska below Philip, a beautiful stretch that I suspect might be traveled more if it weren't for the long portage just above Radiant. Maybe that was too easy, since those cliffs are so distinctive.

Can you place this predawn shot? It was taken from a rock ledge that is a prominent feature of this campsite. It is one of our favorites, a lovely spot that is 2-3 portages off a main canoe route, so it doesn't get alot of traffic.

Awesome, thanks Mark; Markus and I just planned on of our trips in Aug/Sept. and we'll be paddling by those beautiful cliffs! Can't wait happy.gif

Cork Lake.

It's one of my very favourites too. Even though there are no flat tent areas, the firepit is tiny and home to a large colony of mice, the mosquitos and black flies are ferocious even in late August, it's always raining, and the swimming sucks.
