LATE '60'S DETAILED MAPS ...

In Barry's GPS thread I mentioned that the late-1960 official park map had hill shading.



Here's a small section:

I just thought that was kind of neat since no official park map has it it since then.

Wow - quite impressive that they could shade-contour the 2d maps back then using what technology they had (air photos in stereo). Ironic/Funny how they dropped that feature in more 'current' maps.
