Thanks guys!
Iain I agree with what you said and did as you suggested. The nights were SO clear it was amazing.
It was neat too, during the day, hearing the ice cracking...Sounded like a bass drum off in the distance...

Nice shots Steve.
Do you take multiple exposures for your HDR effect or is it all post-processing?
I'm curious as to how you get the visual effects that you do.

Sometimes I take multiple shots (Ill bracket for 5 shots) and then I use an HDR program (Dynamic Photo HDR) to tone map them all. On other shots I do a psuedo-hdr technique using a single exposure. It's easy to go overboard with it and I have a tendency to do just that, so I'm still learning as I go

Ya, I really like what you've done here. I'm just getting into digital photography and it's neat to have new techniques and goals to strive for -- in this case, kick@ss night shots in AP.
Thanks for sharing!

Those last 2 shots are really nice Steve,Have you tried using Photomatix for your HDR?
I really like it.
On a side note I just ordered a set of Alien Bees studio lights today, cant wait to get them!

Hey Steve I just checked out your site.
I really like it! Did you do it yourself or through someone else?

I have tried Photomatix but I'm kind of partial to Dynamic Photo HDR (it's more that I'm just used to that program, not that its any better).
In terms of the website, I registered my domain through GoDaddy.com and I used a template from www.portfoliositez.com for the web design. I would really recommend them as their customer service was unbelievable. I really liked some of the templates from Bluhosting but I heard horror stories about their service. Portfoliositez where great. I had a ton of questions (I kind of bombarded them with emails) and they ALWAYS responded withing about a half hour....They have limited templates but they are fully customizable so you can pretty much make them "your own". Having said that, they are geared towards photography sites....They are worth checking out though for sure....
Oh and they charge 16 bucks a month (gives client proofing abilities etc....)

Those night shot are incredible!
It always amazes me how folks seem to capture as many starts as they do. I know nothing about photography but I do recognize quality photographs when I see them. Also, I pursued your site and really enjoyed checking out all your photographs.
Thanks for sharing Steve!
Cheers
