A quick update on the map book. I got the proof today! I would have had it in my hands yesterday, but Canada Post popped by 4 minutes before I was done my shower. Bleh. Oh well. Anyways, it looks really awesome except for one thing - the legend text was totally messed up. I had a quick fix and as such fixed the problem and uploaded a new file. Since I'm confident that with that fix everything will be fine, I'll order the first 50 books as soon as this new fixed version is approved for printing (ie no need to wait for another proof).
I think you'll all be very pleased. Every page is very clear! I know my colour laser had problems with the UTM grid lines being to faint and the contour text being a little blurry, but clearly that was just my printer since the book looks beautiful!
Thats great Jeff. I am amazed at the amount of hard work you have put into this. The really neat part is that you are building your own little Algonquin legacy as I'm sure your map will very quickly become the gold standard for the park (although I'm sure the FoA map will still be very popular).

Hey James,
Wow, that's quite the compliment .
I'm really glad I started this project... though it's unfortunate that in this day in age that so many of the park maps are so full of errors to the point where I needed to make this. As an aside, how does someone plot the wrong number of arms on a lake? West Harry has 3, but the FoA map shows 2 :S.
Jeff, glad to hear your happy with it. Must leave you with quite a sense of pride after all the work you have put into it. Say the word when you want payments to start rolling in, I'm very excited to be buying a couple off of you.

Yep, just say the word Jeffrey and I will make payment! ( Jim sits perched at his laptop ready to "Paypal" at a moments notice )
Yea Kevin, it was really great to rip open the packaging! I'm about to order the first batch of books now.. just trying to decide if it's worth paying an extra .81 per copy for express shipping... hmmm.
"Express" is a generic term.
Like "Hi-Fi" was for VCR's.
Save your money.
So it might take an extra day....or not.
Sometimes I received mail as fast as express mail, that was sent through the regular mail-stream.
