The park says the permit office is open at 9am....do they have Box to drop cash, or method to grab a permit earlier like some other parks?

Yes they do, we used the drop box last fall when I took our students to the Barron River for a Duke of Ed trip.

you get your permit at sand lake gate permit office, the box is outside, the forms are there to fill out and there's a box to drop your money in.
