Thanks for all your help, the site's amazing. We will surely ask a bunch of stupid questions before we go and post a trip report when we get back.
Thanks again from a slightly over excited and now nervous first timer.
I get overly excited and nervous every time. But don't worry; you are much better prepared than I was on my first trip. I was invited to join a group only two weeks before the trip, and had never even seen a map of Algonquin until the day before we started! You have a great route planned. Sixteen nights? Wow! I should be finishing up my seven-night trip a week before you arrive. Our routes have everything from Grassy Bay/White Trout Lake to the Nippissing in common, but I'll be heading north to Nadine Lake from the Nip. You should be able to get a lot of current park conditions prior to your trip, from myself and others, should you want them. Hope you have plenty to do to distract your from the anticipation!

Looks like a great trip Patrick.
I was on the Tom Thompson to Ink Lake portage in February and cleared some blow downs but left many. The commercial camps will make sure the path is clear, but the trail will be a tough one, especially early on your trip.
Good luck,
Darryl H.

Great looking route. You're going to get to see a lot at a pace that allows you to see it, relax, appreciate it. I wish I had that kind of time.
Be sure to post some pics & a TR.

Sounds like great fun. I posted a Trip Log from my family's stay at the Bog Crow Cabin last summer. There is a re-supply post on Cedar Lake which you might benefit from should you find yourself short or in need of something unexpected. You would likely also get to meet Jake, a legendary Algonquin figure who has run the store for decades, grew up in the park, and would be a good resource for conditions in the second half of your trip.
The one downside to the BC Cabin is it is in the shade almost all day. As a result it is a bit dank but a much appreciated roof (we had some rain). There is a beautiful island in the bay in front of the cabin which we spent chunks of our day on as it is beautiful, breezy and covered in blueberries which we used to make biscuits. The walk to the tower behind the cabin is great and an excellent freshwater spring about fifty meters left(when facing the cabin) of the cabin. The water is so cold it hurts your head, tastes great and is the only time I have consumed unfiltered water in the park.
Have a great trip.

Thanks Everyone,
Great advice, we will be putting the info about the BC cabin in our trip notes. Not sure I like the sound of the hard portage's at the start. We will certainly be stopping over at the Brent store, we're even thinking of organising a food drop there but are continuing to look into that. We just have to get a good price for the canoe hire now!?
