BT in late May is a great place to be
Here's to a safe trip, gentle breeze at your back when on
the water and stronger breezes when at camp to keep some
of the bugs at bay
Heaven awaits you after this portage
P.S.
Late time I was on BT in late May 1970 we didn't even have
tents as we still were sleeping under plastic over canoe
We have the real pictures somewhere if they have not faded
However , in case this does setup not makes sense (canoe tarp sleeping setup )
then following is self explanatory and pretty close to how my older
brothers introduced me to BT.
Note: the bugs must of really been attracted to the 10 mil green
coloured plastic we used but I guess I was lucky
that I could actually fit my sleeping bag with room
to spare and folded the open ends shut over my head
to avoid most bugs while sleeping
I think the 1970 vintage trip food menu was something like:
Black-fly tea with porridge and those were not small raisins in the porridge
my something my brother kept saying
Lunch we ate on the water and was the only enjoyable mealtime I remember
Supper was smokey and what ever you could eat while in the
campfire smog
Have fun
