A trip-log has been submitted by young Sam Barkwell ...

"This trip was taken in August, 2008 with a boy's tripping camp in Algonquin Park. The group had 2 guide/counsellors' and 7 boys ranging from 12-16 years of age. I myself had just turned twelve."

So often, many of us seen the canoes, kids and counselors from the camps go by. Here's a firsthand account of one of them.

A very well-written account of your trip, Sam. As a teacher of people your age, I am impressed by the quality of your report. It was engaging, humorous, and displayed your competency in writing and canoe tripping. Keep up the good work!

hi Sam,

ahhh to be young again! To have all that energy! You are a very fortunate young lad to be paddling Algonquin Park at such a young age. May you have many more wonderful years and experiences in the times ahead. Those long grueling days are probably your fondest memories, no? Makes the reward at the end of the day much sweeter. Thanks fer sharing, looking forward to your next one. I've been wanting to goto Brule Lake, through Rainbow, and look forward to reading about Rainbow Lake in your next report.

Camp Wendigo trip log

Master Sam is currently away at camp so I can't show him your note just yet Markus, but rest assured I will be sure he sees it when he gets back.

Sam scored three and a half weeks at camp this year. That will translate into twenty days of tripping.

I am certain he is going to want to produce some more trip logs when he gets back.
