Somehow during my last move, my pack got a clean vertical cut in it. What's the best way to repair it? Duct tape? Clear duct tape that MEC sells? Seamstress?
Are you still in TO? if so I'd recommend the sports sewing shop on Gerrard near Woodbine. A god pack like that will last way longer with a proper repair than a quick patch.
A buddy of mine had my tent fixed there after he caused "some damage", they did a great job.

Is this a retail store you can just drop in?

How old is it? Call MEC, maybe they fix for free?
Best option is to take it to someone who knows how to work with ripstop nylon.
Maybe someone on this or another forum can give you pointers.
I don't think any kind of tape is going to help. Looks like it wants stitching.
Or you could load it up with seam seal to prevent fraying and live with it.

It's a relatively minor bit of damage. A proper sewing job is all that's required. I had 'Stitch It' at my local mall install a heavy duty zipper on my tent bag and they did a fine job but if you can find a place that repairs hockey equipment, as Raccoon suggested, I think yould would have better luck. Don't waste your time with duct tape. In the past, when required, I have made my own such repairs using a heavy duty needle and 8lbs. test and a pair of plyers to push the needle through the fabric. Good luck.

I think I'll take it to someone for sure. Sports Sewing Shop sounds good. Anything similar in the West End or downtown of TO?
