Can anyone tell me if there is any trout or bass in Little Eagle?

Thanks.

Can't speak from experience, only inference, but according to Jeffrey "Mapmaster" McMurtrie's map, all surrounded lakes have specks. With the creeks flowing in from nearby waters, I'd bet on specks if anything.

The eagle.

Was in on the lake last summer with the sonar. Marked some fish I'd say speckles most likely. Of course not a bite. I wouldn't count on catching anything on a visit there. Portage is kinda rough too.

Hi Stainless, you mentioned on Craig L how you "pre-cooked" potatoes before taking them on a trip. Can you provide more info on this, you said you microwaved them? All my kid eats is potatoes and we're off Wednesday on a trip.

Thanks,
S.

Potatoes

Hey Smedleyco.

Leave the potato skin on. Wash and scrub. Poke a few holes in it with a fork.
Then put it in the microwave on high. About 3-4 mins. for one potato. More time for several.
When it comes out, wrap it in tin foil. You're ready to put them in the food bag.

When you've got the campfire coals nice and hot, throw the potato on and warm it up.
It takes far less time to 'cook' them that way. And the bonus is, they weigh a bit less in the food pack.

Great fixings

Hi Stainless
Sounds excellent for home fries with bacon sandwich

Almost as good as when Bo cooked french fries at Kingscote

P.S. I prefer eggs with bacon plus these home fries as well if I
managed to somehow no break them on the way in .
Speaking of weight, in China I saw that you actually buy
eggs at the market by weight ( different sized eggs weigh differently eh!)
but dehydrating/precooking doesn't work as easily

So the solution is you have the vendor crack the eggs and pour
the yolk and white into a preweighed container or bag before it is weighed for purchase by weight .

That way I guess I'd get my eggs and bacon first breeky
if the container is unbreakable ( P.s. I like scrambled eggs)

Hey Stainless, you sure have a good memory and thanks.
I agree about the fished out part and I only tried for about an hour with no luck. The black flies were worse on the water than in the campsite. But not bad overall anyway.
