Hello,
Thought I'd post these picts of a very very impressive 'Outhouse' located at the Magnetawan Lake Access (#3). It's worthy of a spa and is decorated/built and located as such, inside and out. I do not know if these exist at any other AP access, or if this is a trial run only to test them out for future Park usage. But it's hands down the best dwelling of this sort I've every come across in any Park.
Here's the front, note the driftwood top on the arbor's frame, nice touch. Inviting boardwark, very appealing setting, all cedar construction, good view, lol:
Inside of one of the two stalls:
Plus it actually
contained rolls of
comfy toilet paper! It's a Phoenix Composting Toilet - no smell, solar powered (panel afixed to the clear roof), well ventilated, extremely spacious, very clean, windows you can open/close, a nice shelf to store/organize your change of clothes, quiet (the batteries/mechanical parts stored below the toilets where the low purr of the composting mechnanism at work can be heard). The Outhouse actually extends well below the top portion, barely discernable in the first photo, again about 10 feet down the bank. Their website:

I hope they add more of this type of dwelling, what a treat. Hopefully won't be long before solar showers boxed in cedar frames are added down the road.
