June 22, 2009 Spring Photo Contest Winners

With the judging complete on our Spring, Fun or Funny in Algonquin Park photo contest. It's now time to announce the winners. This time around we didn't have a lot of photos entered into the contest, in fact there were only a total of 32 photos entered.

As we have in the past we invited our previous winners back to participate as judges in this contest.

The Winners are


1st Place Winner: "Which way?" We were on a small creek on Carl Wilson lake when we ran out of water and had to turn around. One person in the canoe was being stubborn and wouldn't shift positions.

3rd Place Winner: "Amazing" This was our first trip to Algonquin with our son - age 5.

Sweet, congrats all.

I feel so sorry for 2nd place, he almost deserves 1st.

It's pretty classic to come across someone carrying unusual items like the chap has in our second place winner. No one ever probably told him that there are much lighter stoves (we even rent them) than the old classic two burner Colman 10lb green model. lol.

I personally love it when I come across people who have packed in strange things, like this chap.



I always feel compelled to offer some suggestions as to how they may pack a little better (#1 get everything in your pack and resist tieing, straping, lashing or even ductaping things to the outside.) Unfortunately more often than not, most do not want my advice..
