Cache Lake area fishing questions

Hello All:
My Wife is taking me to Bartlett Lodge on Cache Lake for my birthday this week, we are only going to be there for 2 nights, but I was wondering if anybody had advice for fishing that area. All my Algo experience is north end of the park, north river, catfish lake, etc so I am not familiar with the corridor lakes or south of 60.
Any body know if the madawaska is worth fishing/hiking along looking for brookies? (Is that even do-able?
Or if my efforts would be better served heading south to Head lake, etc.
Thank you all for any advice you may wish to share, I have been chasing Brookies in the park for a long time, but this is the first time in July and the first time in that Area.

I cannot comment from experience, but check out JeffreyM's map for species present in the area.

I have stayed at Bartlett Lodge before. The two lakes south of it (via short portages) produced some lake trout for me.
