Can anyone tell me what this site is like or the lake? Planning on doing a three say there but have never went in access 4. Any help would be great. Thanks Paul
We did a similar trip a few years ago, from Rain Lake Access to Misty Lake and back. I really like that area of smaller lakes. The only issue I had was that we seemed to spend more time loading and unloading the canoe and portaging, than actual paddling. Seems like you paddle twenty minutes then portage again! However, it is a very scenic area. The campsite on Bandit next to the portage is not very private. The portage literally comes out right next to it. The island campsite is better, but it is not very private either because it faces the other campsite. Hope this helps! By the way, neither were occupied either on the way in to or out of Misty.

Bandit is a nice small lake. I've been to both the island site and the one on the "main land". Both were ok as sites go. We had the honor of watching a moose nurse a calf for a few hours on the shore across from our site. The portage to Bandit is one of my favorites in the park - great colors in the fall. A old road bisects the portage and offers good hiking opportunities. It's worth the stop, especially if you like a lake to yourself. Day-trip to Moccasin and Cranebill. If I recall correctly - it's a steep uphill to Wenona. Carl
