Following Randys lead -

I wounder if anyone can point out any points of interest between Smoke and Kawagama Lakes? Not withstanding the fact that there some hilly bits (staircases of golden and devilish natures) in the middle and I'm aware of the white pines, is there anything else like a tim hortons or a nice patio with beer on ice i should stop in at along the way?

finished the trip, there are no landmarks, there was little but rain, sweat, blood and muck from one end to the other. I will try to post something resembling a trip report as well as some information on the portages and sites. The common theme of the portages will be, swampy/muddy/heavily obstructed landings, ridiculously difficult portages full of blow downs/walk overs/beaver ponds/streams/mud/scat/slippery rocks/slippery roots and many more descriptive terms hopefully without the expletives the deserve. Any and all of the wildlife which may have been in the area have learned several new and exciting combinations of words with which they can thrill and excite their friends.

Oh I forgot to mention it was great, even with all of the rain.
