So Markus showed up at my place 7am on Sat morning and we headed up to the Logging Museum. We arrived at 10:30 and had a good day seeing the exhibits. People like Ron Tozer were on hand to give explanations / demonstrations on how things were done 'back in the day'. We enjoyed listening to the Wakami Wailers a couple times and also had a great 'Loggers Lunch" of beans, fried potatoes, fried bologna, coleslaw, cookies and butter tarts... mmmmm...
After we left the museum, we had time to hike the Beaver Pond Trail. We were about 1/3 of the way along when the skies opened up for about a 2 minute drenching. Once it stopped, we were soaked, but continued on without further rain.
We finished the trail and headed over to The Mad Musher for a quick beverage (and desserts for the kiddies) and to meet Steve (who was also at Loggers Day). He showed us around the place and we had a good chat. Nice to meet another AA'er.
The drive home was interlaced with sporadic showers ranging from sprinkles to hard downpours. There was a nice hour of quiet as my three passengers dozed off after a day of good fun.
Took some photos and will post them here when I get a few minutes, as I am sure will Markus.
To those that debated going and didn't, you missed a good day. To those that were not able to make it, make plans to go next year.
