Quickie Saturday Night Camping - Crown Land??

Good morning all,

I apologize in advance for my question being un-Algonquin related, but I'm hoping that you could provide some guidance.

I'm thinking of doing a quick last minute camping trip Saturday night, I don't really care where, just I'd prefer to be on a lake, but I don't have a canoe, so it needs to be a drive up spot. I was also thinking of trying to camp on crown land, but I've never done so before.

So any advice?

Thanks for your help.

Aaron

Depends where ya wanna drive... I know a few spots out around Bancroft-way... this time of year they tend to be taken by "squatters" though. Could also consider looking at myccr's canoe routes section because i recall seeing a lot of crown land routes, likely starting on crown land waters.

I suspect that the ones around Bancroft will all be taken this weekend as it is the Gemboree this weekend and it can and does get insanely busy.
