Help with Aquatic Plant ID

Hello,

Can anyone identify this aquatic plant - I think it's an algae of some form but not sure.

[linked image]

The above picture was taken on Burntroot lake off our campsite, however it was also seen growing in Big T, Longer L and the Petawawa River sections. The specimens we saw were all growing on rock in less than 4 feet of water. Each of these lakes had very poor visibility (< 1.5 meters), not sure if that's a factor in this plant's biology but it was a commonality. <br>
Tks for any help.

Hi diagram,

Much appreciate the id - looks to be exactly what this is, a species of water sponge. Interesting that it gets its green color from the algae growth. We didn't notice it in Merchant or other clear-water lakes in that area, but I'll keep my eyes open for it in the future and note its distribution elsewhere in ON waterbodies.
