Oxtongue River Day Trip - How Much Time?

Just curious if anyone has done the Oxtongue from the WU trailhead / Oxtongue River picnic location down to the Algonquin Outfitters area as a daytrip?

We have some interest in seeing if we can add this to the last day of our Achray trip. Figuring we'll leave the Carcajou Bay area, possibly Upper Spectacle Lake by 8 AM that would put us back at the access point about 10 AM, give or take.

On the way out we are going to spend a little time walking the rim trail above the Barron and then drive back to the Oxtongue (maybe). That might be another 2 1/2 hours making the put in on the Oxtongue about 12:30 or 1 PM.

We were told the river from Canoe Lake area to Oxtongue Lake would be long day trip so I am not sure we should try to do the river. Some of the guys have not seen the Logging Museum exhibit or the Visitors' Centre and might enjoy those spots but if we could add on the Oxtongue without having to make a southern version of the "Brent Run" out of it, it might be a nice paddle.
