I have one use for our fishing trips in the springtime but it is more geared towards the colder weather and fishing, let me know if you are interested..

have traded back and forth with a few other people and have a pretty good handle on what NOT to bring..

Backpacking list?

Well short of not taking the canoe ( inflatable boat optional happy.gif )

I tend to take mostly what I take in the canoe when Canoe trippin
except maybe the foldup chair or canoe seat depending on triage
done by buddy when canoe trippin!

Oh yes... forgot, extra paddle not required but everything
else ( items sometimes smaller.... e.g. stove ) but not
always as we tend to have miniturized most of the canoe gear

Perhaps less bulk food but then again you you likely aren't hiking for
7-10 days so why scrimp on nourishment

And yes , I'd take fishing gear, but it would be a smaller pack rod
instead of the two normal rod/reels taken when canoeing

Any list you get will obviously need to be tailored to your particular circumstances (group size, time of year, menu, etc.) but here are a few list to use as starting points. As they are for a Scout trip, you can ignore items # 40-47 and 52 on the personal equipment list.

This is for canoe trip with a group of 7 on for a week, the first week in August trip to support this menu:

Breakfasts were made on a single burner propane stove, lunch required no heating and dinners were made on an open fire.

Keep in mind that you asked for a backpacking list and this is a canoe tripping list. If in fact you are backpacking, weight will be much more of an issue for you than it is for the trip this was created for.

Sorry about that. Either the Host is doing something funky or it's the way I've got my browser set, I can get there; but regardless. Try this link:

http://bsa524.5u.com/summertrips/2004.htm

and look under Interior for Menu
