Well, after getting totally soaked last weekend, I have ove to the conclusion that I need to look into better raingear. There's onething canoeing in July when it rains, but in April or Oct, that's a different story.

So, I am looing for suggestions on what others use for their rain gear... I'd also be looking for pants a well....

Thanks for all the help

A one we canoer.... Glenn

I'm still a fan of Gortex and other breathables. I know that wasn't the consensus in the other thread, but they work for me.

I'm not a fan of waterproof breatables (that means I sweat a lot). But either way what ever I buy it needs to have armpit zips. Given the choice between pit zips and breathable fabric, I'll choose the zips any day.

Personally I'm tired of replacing expensive Gore-Tex, and pit zips do a better job at venting perspiration than any fabric I've seen.

I agree with Zeb. I sweat a lot and get as wet inside out as outside in. I have gotten a new set of rain gear that are industrial and have pit zips and a covered back zip and find them much better than the waterproof breathable style.I do not find the breathable very rugged and have ended up having to replace them as they do not seem to stand up. Either they do not stand up or I am a clutz. It could be either
