How was the Rain Lake access road this year? I was sorry to read in an earlier thread about the condition of Magnetawan access. The concensus seemed to be - too rough for a small car. It has been two or three years since I've been this way and while the roads were not great, they were passable. I am hoping to go in with my son next summer. Any suggestions on how we can best encourage better maintenance of these west side access roads?

Rain Lake Access

Both Rain Lake and Magnetawan access roads are passable by almost any car or truck, both roads are made up of loose gravel and the condition varies through out the year. In early spring you can often experience wash outs that may make the road passable but the rest of the Summer & Fall season should pose no difficulties. Winter, both roads are closed as they are not plowed.
