Ottawa area - no HST deals on outdoor products

For those living or visiting the Ottawa area over the next few days, there are a number of outdoor stores offering no HST deals:

Le Baron: http://www.lebaron.ca/pdffiles/show_spec/sale_ottawa_feb11.pdf

SAIL: http://www.sail.ca/newsletter/vente-de-liquidation-hiver-2011/the-winter-liquidation-sale-2011/content/

These stores, like most around town are also offering many in-store specials on select items from what's left of their winter season inventory.

For those with a need to re-spool for the upcoming open water season there are braid/fluorocarbon hybrids available, from both Sufix (832 Advanced Superline) and Spiderwire (Ultracast Fluoro-Braid) at SAIL. In theory should be the best of both worlds...

Lots of new hardbaits and plastics to tease and tempt your senses (and hopefully those of the fishes). No shortage of items to spend one's fleeting cash on.

If you like Le Baron's you'll probably REALLY Like SAIL. They have a much larger fishing section (diversity, quality, volume) including a dedicated fly-fishing area. We don't have a Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops here as they do in TO, so SAIL is the closest we come to that. They are very competitive on pricing, imo. For fly fishing there's an Orvis shop in town http://www.greendrake.com/) and there was an independent one out in the west end near Moodie/Richmond area (not sure if that's still there).

There's also the Ottawa Fly Fishers club - http://www.ottawaflyfishers.com/
