The images that make up the satelite views on Google Maps for Algonquin Park are for the most part images stitched together to create what you see. My question is in relation to the age of the images that make up the views we see online today. Do you (or anyone) know approximately how old these images are?

The low resolution images are from SPOT - they were collected between 2005 and 2010 (if you want you can download them from geobase.ca for free). The high resolution ones are from DigitalGlobe with collection dates from 2003-2010 according to a quick search on their site.

You can buy them from DigitalGlobe if you're swimming in money. Otherwise.. no (it's not that there aren't ways to extract them from Google Earth, but you're not supposed to do that according to the license agreement)

Thanks for the tips Jeffrey - it was a long shot though now I no longer need to see the higher resolution images of parts of Algonquin I'd planned on visiting.
