Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if Otterslide creek, between Otterslide and Big Trout Lakes is to low to paddle in the summer? Also, anyone who has paddled this stretch remember how long it took to paddle from Otterslide to Big Trout?
I've never heard of problems w/ Otterslide Creek. Maybe during the driest of summers, such as last year? There is no indication on the FoA map, so my guess is nothing more than the occasional sandbar or shallows directly downstream of a beaver dam? Check the trip logs, I know there are some reports with pictures on the creek. Sorry I couldn't help with any first-hand experience.
id give it 3 hours for a comfortable go..
beautiful sight it is, working hard through that maze, feeling pressed in by the sides for considerable time, jumping in and out of portages, then watching ahead it open up, so wide and still, into big trout.
