Back from a shortened trip , had booked Nadine fer three nights , was fortunate enough to cross Cedar , lick my wounds sorta speak , and try and wait out a virulent cold that had set in the night before leaving .
Have never felt quite as vulnerable as I did these three days , absolutely no energy to do anything , except rest and enjoy what I could of the stellar weather .
Had thought briefly of pushin on up the Nip , glad I didn't , as I had barely the the energy to paddle back across Cedar yesterday .
Some may not care fer the personal commentary , and I get that , just thought I`d share some the not so good stuff that can happen . It certainly adds to my reverence fer the wild !
In the end , disappointed some , but the right choice was made I figure .
The black flies were bitin at dusk , loons a callin , spring peepers deafening and the moon arisin .
This mink seen along the shoreline below
Not sure , but by the facial markins this may be an Northern Owl Hawk seen hunting in the bay at the mouth of the Nip.
