There is another thread about tripping on the west side that mentions in part what to take/not take on a canoe trip. Rather than hijack that thread I start this topic. What do you take on a trip? What clever multiple use items do you take? What do you bring that may not be needed but is still worth it to deal with unexpected situations? While the answers to these and related questions can be found by reading all the posts here in the past, perhaps its useful to highlight them again.
Please note what sort of trippers your comments may apply to: solo trippers, a bunch of youngish guys, a couple with or without children, etc. I've not recently done any interior trips myself but have done them years ago in a variety of those situations. Newer technology make my past trip details less useful.
