Well, a few days ago it looked like I might have had this rare Out Of Range piece sold; yet it is still available. I need to sell this because of some unpaid medical bills and a few other financial changes (son heading off to college + a long term 35% income drop, to name a couple), therefore I need to sell my fantastic Panerai Sub 25. I am hoping to hold onto my one other Panerai.

The details. The pictures will show the condition, which is pristine. The warranty card is dated and stamped from Feb 2009. The package is complete, missing only the outer tan cardboard box. So all proper documentation included, COSC, polishing cloth, both OEM straps (velcro never used, rubber strap/deployant used for less than 4 hours).

Note, for some reason this did not come with a screwdriver, and the box/packaging does not even have loops for one, only for the new strap changing tool. BONUS - 2 leather straps, the best of which is a 95% or better Zeugma dark brown leather which goes very well on the Sub. Keeping time within about 5 seconds per day last time I checked. There is one very very small case mark shown in the pics - I absolutely promise you that is it, otherwise it is mint.
This Out Of Range piece is one of 20 ever made. Mine is a very low number OOR 0x/20

Asking $5450 shipped OBO. Many references available, and many links to my life and story via my blog - www.docerniesblog.com
Payment via Bank Wire, or PayPal eCheck. I would prefer that you are an established Paneristi and/or have references as well.
Thanks for looking!

OOR means.....well, depends who you ask

August 29 2009, 4:44 PM

Reading various posts on this forum - here is what I comprehend....
As I understand it - OOR means that they are intending to retire that particular model, and the watches made with parts left from regular production then become OOR pieces. So if they have lots of parts left over sometimes they end up making from between 100 to 500 or more OOR pieces for a given model. In this case only 20 of the PAM25 were made, and mine is #02/20.
They will only once make an OOR series for any given model.

Others have said that the OOR pieces are actually those that may not have passed QC at first - but are adjusted to meet (in this case) COSC standards. Yet - this seems open to discussion, as several on this forum have investigated and claimed this not to be true; meaning that OOR pieces have never had any QC issues.

Mine is no different overall than a standard PAM25, except for collectors and other interested risti's, who desire harder to come by pieces, lower numbers - as in this case #2 of 20 pieces, and those made at the final end of a given model production run.
I hope that makes sense. If you go to Paneristi and search OOR, you should see similar threads/info.

BTW - my warranty card is stamped by an AD in Parma, Italy.
Best,
Ernie
