Isn't the PAM 61 a Tobacco dial? Titanium Black dials began with the PAM 40. Correct me if I am wrong.

Sorry mean to say TI black dials started with the PAM 40, then 176 and 177.

My bet is this is a no-go at this station.

Upon further reflection, hell no.

SMELLS LIKE SCAM!

January 25 2013, 2:01 PM

Exif data on the image says it was taken in March of 2012 in Bethesda, MD but "seller" (for lack of a better word!) has an IP address in Grand Rapids, MI. Don't photos need to be current to sell on here? If it sounds too good to be true ...

that is NOT a 61...

January 25 2013, 4:57 PM

I have 2 (real) PAM 61's (one C series, one D series), they are brown. That should be enough...
Price is ridicolously low... tough to find a 61 - even without boxes/papers - below 4,000 USD.

If anybody has one, I'd be a buyer at that level.

This is fake and the Seller is a sorry for venting but frankly speaking I am tired of these trying to infest and jeopardize our fair trading activities... just in the last 2 weeks, I have been responding myself to a dozen emails in order to defend my own identity from another trying to sell Panerai's, Rolex's and (last one today) Tag's to honest buyers using my name and my references - it appears I have been able to "save" all but one, but it's a real pain...

Tks for reading and apologies again for the venting...

ciao, Andrea

TO ANDREA AND ALL THE SKEPTICS

January 26 2013, 5:52 AM

I posted this watch in good faith and with honesty, being forthright about the dial (being black). It is rather a sad testament to what has become the norm in this forum making accusations and insulting ones reputation without even considering the mere possibility of any other circumstance. In this case, the fact is that this watch IS an authentic PAM 61 with a black dial that was serviced by the Panerai Service Center in Texas (see below for a copy of the service record). The original tobacco dial was stained and as such during service replaced with a black dial due to the fact that the part was not available. The service record directly from the Panerai Service Center IS the proof. For those who are still not convinceda toll free call to the service center with set the record straight (I would gladly provide the serial number for those who would like to confirm). I thank you all for your interest and let me know if you have any other questions. Amir.

BTW. Andrea. Take a chill pill. You are going to give yourself a heart attack.

Full Disclosure is Crucial.....

January 26 2013, 7:15 AM

...if you don't want to be accused of dishonesty. You are trying to sell a tobacco dial'd Panerai with a black dial and didn't even disclose that in your original post.

Dude! How can you blame ANYONE on this site for calling you out?

And it certainly isn't "Vintage" if you replaced it with a "New" dial.....especially when it ain't the correct one!!!

Seriously Laughing Out Loud. (oxymoron intended)

;-Dan

I think you were another victim of PASC killer

January 26 2013, 4:32 PM

As I said above, your watch has well made features and only problem was colour of dial.

No, really, you've made two big mistakes - accepted the dial change ( in fact is was VERY CHEAP), and not disclosed it initially.

I think eventually you were another victim of PASC killers

best luck

Apologies to Amir

January 26 2013, 8:30 PM

For the words I used...
Given last events affecting my reputation, and given the amount of time I spent to explain to people I am not a scammer etc, I might have over-reacted.
Still, you must admit your post was weird under many lights and very prone to criticism (price and dial color, no whatsoever explanations....)
Last but not least, I am a very serene person and hopefully healthy enough to avoid heart attacks.... But thanks for the advice...

Regards and happy weekend, Andrea

Add to that your profanity had to be cleaned up plus seller just ripped into me

January 26 2013, 9:16 PM

I'd say you both have issues to apologise for.
Have a great weekend both of you.
