I fI had to take pictures of my watch every time it went in, I would wonder why I'm dealing with Panerai service - or Panerai, for that matter - at all.
I've used PASC 6 times, and NEVER had a watch come back screwed up (ie. scratches on the caseback or case itself).
Again, once in a while there's going to be a screw-up. No company or team of people can be perfect everything. It ain't happenin'
