So I was fortunate enough to hang with Rich and Angelo Bonati at the Yacht Challenge in Newport, RI. But, what the hell happened to Rich! Well, too bad because Mr. Bonati was going to surprise him with a brand spanking new 203. Ha!…you snooze you lose.

Being the great friend that I am I took delivery of the watch and gave my spot on the list to Rich. LOL!!
It was still early and I wasn’t ready to go home to the wife and my 2 monsters.

I was invited to sail with the Panerai crew around Newport for a few hours and wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity. A tropical storm was brewing but looking up all I saw was a blue sky and no clouds in sight. It was only for a few hours, so I thought what the heck.
Wouldn’t you know it, the weather changed for the worse.
Dang it, this is where I ended up. Talk about bad karma.
So, here we go….
2 Watches:
Most definitely my PAM 64. Since I’m on this island, might as well test out the Bomba, take a dive and see what it’s capable of. I played catch and release with this watch a few times….won’t make that mistake again. If there is such a thing as a keeper, this is it!
Next up would be a 5218-201/A.
A non-matching dial like the one in Eng’s lithograph would be perfect.
Sim’s matching dial would be just fine too.
I sold a few watches last year with hopes of acquiring a LOGO but I just couldn’t pull the trigger. It’s just not in the cards at the moment.
2 Songs:
Another fellow Dave Matthews Band fan here and #41 gets the call. It reminds me of my days in dental school. Before every major exam I would play the song in my CD player…..yup, before iPods and mp3 players.

It was the perfect jam to help me relax and get in the right frame of mind for taking any test.

Next up would be Check the Rhime by A Tribe called Quest. This is hip hop in its purest form. No gimmicks, no talks of guns, $$, jewelry, etc. Even if you hate rap, have a listen to the lyrics. You may like it.

1 Movie:
Shawshank Redemption is my all time favorite movie. “Fear can hold you prisoner, hope can set you free.” This is a movie you can watch over and over and never get sick of.
1 Book:
To be honest, most of the books I have read were for educational purposes. Therefore, I am not going to pretend that I know a bunch of authors and their works.

That being said, my choice would be The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I heard the book was much better than the movie, so, I may as well have a read of it.

This is a tough one. But, it would have to be a picture of both my son Neil Jr. (NJ) and daughter Natalie. Maybe this one?? My wife took pictures of my kids wearing these shirts she made and gave this amazing frame to me last father’s day.
It’s tough to see so here’s a close up view from the back.
Do my kids know what’s up or what?? LOL!!
Or maybe this one??
I may live in Rhode Island, but I was born on the left coast and raised in So. Cal. I bleed purple and gold…. LAKERS for life!! LOL!!
1 Memory:
Has to be my wedding day – the whole day was perfect even the fresh snowfall on the ground that fell the night before. I really did marry my soul mate and am very lucky to have Nicole in my life. She understands me, accepts the “sickness”…..well within reason,

and keeps me in line. Otherwise I probably would dip into the kid’s college funds or savings account and do something silly like buy a vintage.
Nothing too embarrassing here. I know I look like I need to be carded.
Here is a picture with my two best men. These guys have been my bros since the 8th grade. I’m sure many of you recognize the guy on the right. The often imitated never duplicated Mr. Davie Lee. LOL!!
1 Meal:
Let’s see… to start… seared ahi tuna. If it’s on the menu when I dine out, more often than not, I order it. Easy to prepare and so delicious.
For dessert, a falafel sandwich from Mamoun’s in NYC.

I’ve tried many falafels in my day and this is the best hands down. I’m sure you NY guys know what I’m talking about. LOL!!
And finally, a cold refreshing Newcastle Brown Ale to wash it all down and I’m all set.
1 Person:
Easy choice, I’m going with MacGyver. You’ve seen the TV show and know what he can do with a pocket knife, duct tape, and whatever else he has available.

I need someone with me with survival instincts who can build something to get us off this island and back to civilization.

That just about does it. Thanks for your time!
