So Sidekick calls me up and says that he has designed a boat and that he wants to GIVE it me. After picking myself off the floor and realizing that Sidekick is giving away something other than panda gtg t-shirts, I make my way to where the boat is. Ugh.........well it's free:
So I am off and within an hour a few rain drops fall out of the sky and the quality of my free boat is starting to show:
Lesson learned: Buy the seller NOT the boat!!!
So I make my way to a deserted island and these are the things that made it with me:
2 Watches:
2 Songs:
R.E.M. - "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)"
The Clash - "Guns of Brixton"
1 Book:
1 Movie:
"Papillon", the one movie that I will always cancel plans to watch if it is on TV.
1 Photograph:
I am not one to post pictures of my kids but this is my favorite:
1 Memory:
On the day that my son was born, my father and I left the hospital for a few minutes to pick up some food to bring back to the room for the people that had come to visit my newborn son. My father stopped for a minute looked at me and said, "I thought that the day you were born was the most special day in my life but I was wrong, seeing my son having a son has passed it". As I type this my eyes are watering up. I guess making your father happy is something that you can never stop wanting to do.
1 Meal:
Oh how I wish I had a camera with me but on my 30 birthday (almost 10 years ago), my wife surprised me by taking me to one of, if not the best restaurants in Chicago, Charlie Trotters. The night was made even more special that one of my closest friends, my cousin David flew in from San Francisco to join us. Five people and nearly 3500 dollars later (I really like wine), it was the perfect dinner!
A really close second........any time!!!!!!!!!
